Last night I was reminded of all the blessings in my life I am truly grateful for. My co-workers and I left work early and headed to downtown Des Moines to prepare dinner for the families staying at the Ronald McDonald House by Blank Children’s Hospital.

It was a simple service opportunity to give back to our community and bless others this Thanksgiving week. The families staying at the Ronald McDonald House have a lot going on in their lives, and it blessed me to cook them a delicious dinner to provide a time of fellowship. And it made me feel overwhelmed at all the wonderful things in my life. Even in the midst of trials and hard things that life can bring, I am healthy, have an incredibly loving family and am loved by a merciful and gracious God.

It was just the reminder I needed.

And now as I drive to Northwest Iowa to see my parents, I am so excited to spend time with some of my family. What a blessing.

Being thankful and feeling blessed. What a beautiful thing.

What are you thankful for this year?

xoxo,
Angela
